The Kai Seki Magoroku Composite knife collection combines centuries of Japanese blade-making tradition with contemporary innovation. Each knife is handcrafted in Seki City, Japan, a region world-renowned for its samurai sword heritage and Kai’s meticulous attention to detail. The blade features a composite construction using a VG-10 cutting edge and a SUS420J2 stainless steel spine, manufactured separately and joined together using molten copper to form the distinctive brazing line that defines the series. With a Rockwell hardness of approximately 56 / 61 (±1) HRC, these knives deliver a balance of sharpness, durability, and refined performance, reflecting Kai’s focus on both technical excellence and modern design.
